Our History
The Glen Eira Amateur Football Club (Saints) is steeped with a diverse history and tradition. The Glen Eira Saints was born in its current form in
1999, but the roots of the Club stem back for many years.
The Glen Eira Saints is an amalgamation of the following Amateur Clubs:
• Glen Huntly (Balaclava) AFC (admitted to the VAFA in 1926)
• CBC St Kilda Old Boys AFC (admitted to the VAFA in 1958)
• South Caulfield FC (YCW/Churches Competition 1970)
• 1980 South Caulfield changed its name to Murrumbeena South Caulfield AFC
• 1982 AMP Society change name to Balaclava AFC
• 1991 Balaclava change name to Glen Huntly AFC
• 1999 Glen Huntly merge with St Kilda South Caulfield to become Glen Eira AFC (Saints)
• 2014 Glen Eira AFC developed its own Netball Club to become Glen Eira Saints Football & Netball Club
The Football Club is affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Association (VAFA) which has been in existence since 1892, while our Netball Club is affiliated
with Caulfied & District Netball Assocation (CDNA). The GEAFC has always been a family orientated, community spirit based club, consistently
contributing to the community off the field. The club is still supported by over 300 families in the local community.
